MINT

With multiple award-winning composers in-house, MINT is an emerging group formed in 2021 featuring a number of musicians from the Composition Department at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University. MINT performs eclectic and diverse original repertoires, and guarantees to ignite and inspire any audience. MINT also features guitarist and Topology Mentorship Program graduate Ray Lin.

Ray Lin is an award-winning composer, arranger, and multi-instrumentalist based in Brisbane. His composition output in contemporary classical, film and pop music had received many outstanding awards, including winning the 2021 QMA Contemporary Classical “Song of the year” Award; semi-finalist at the 2020 UK Walter Hussey Composition Competition and Top 5 in Queensland Music Festival’s 2018 “Score-IT(Plus)” film scoring competition. 

Ray’s recent composition highlights include premiering a new fanfare for orchestra in the 2021 Queensland Pops Orchestra “Best of British” concert (QPAC), and his piece “Two impressions for a raining night” was included in the 4MBS Classic FM “Music of our time” 2021 February program, along with music by Yiruma  and Joe Hisaishi. Other notable performances including two works featured in the 2020 “One World, One Family” 24-hour virtual concert hosted by Chinese CCTV, 2019 QYO “Concert at Twilight” series at the Old Museum Concert Hall, etc. In addition, Ray enjoys sharing music with the community, he composed the finale music for the 2019 Capricorn Music Festival in Yeppoon, and co-written and arranged the school song for Brisbane Chinese Language School.
