Brisbane Folk Quartet

The Brisbane Folk Quartet is a new group established by Emma Nixon. This group is the pocket-sized offshoot of Queensland Youth Folk Orchestra, a collective focused on performing Australian and international folk music. Developed over the last 6 years at national festivals around Australia, the Folk Orchestra has put down roots in Brisbane and is broadening the skills and musical scope of young players.

Our Folk Quartet brings together experienced players Emma Nixon, Lisa Stevenson, Alexa Sheppard and Lachlan Varley to present new and traditional airs and dance tunes from Australia, Scandinavia and the UK.
